Blake Shelton was going through a dark time, when he had a vision from God. It came in a dream. He immediately picked up a pen and a pad (and his trusty guitar) and wrote one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
“At a very dark time in my life last year, I dreamed the first verse of this song. I woke up and immediately wrote it down,” Shelton said in a press release. “Now, looking back, I know it was God’s way of telling me that he’s here and things are gonna be OK.”
You have to listen to this song if you are a Christian.
Blake is amazing. In a music industry in which very few songs are ever about anything truly meaningful or powerful, Blake stepped through and spoke his truth, and we thank him for it.
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
