They Told Toby Keith Not To Talk About The Military, But How He Reacted Says Everything

Think what you want about Toby Keith, but you can never deny his patriotism. He has used his musical gifts in so many important ways when it comes to helping our country, most importantly playing for the military overseas innumerable times.

Liberals are asking Toby Keith to kowtow and apologize for agreeing to perform for Donald Trump’s Inauguration. Liberals like the Dixie Chicks have questioned Toby Keith’s patriotism in the wake of his agreement to play at the inauguration. But Keith is firm in his decision.

“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” Keith told Entertainment Weekly in a statement. “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”

It reminds me of a song written by Toby, the incredible hit “American Soldier.” He writes: I will always do my duty, no matter what the price / I’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice / Oh, and I don’t wanna die for you, but if dyin”s asked of me / I’ll bear that cross with honor, ’cause freedom don’t come free.

“We’re going to do something incredible,” Trump said in a tweeted video promoting the concert. “That’s going to be really fantastic.”
