Australia produces many country artists and country music executives. But, we lost one of the top Australian Country music executives this weekend. “Just heard of the passing of Rob Potts … stunned,” Keith tweeted of his former booking agent on Oct. 27. “Deepest condolences to Sally, Jeremy and Rob’s family and friends. Peace be with you all.” Jeremy is Rob’s son and Sally is his ex-wife. He helped Keith Urban become what he is today and truly helped him become the amazing human he is now.
Other people reached out to Rob Potts’ family. Bryan white said, So sad to hear about Rob Potts as well @KeithUrban Rob was a great human being. He brought me to NZ & treated me like family. Condolences 🙏🏻. Chris Young said, “So sad… he truly will be missed… what a great man and a great legacy”
According to rarecountry, As a passionate supporter of country music, Rob wore many hats, including CEO of Entertainment Edge, booking agent, manager, co-founder of the CMC Rocks country music festival brand and concert promoter with Chugg Entertainment. He was the longtime manager of Warner Music Nashville artist Morgan Evans, who is engaged to Kelsea Ballerini. Rob was also a longtime member of the Nashville-based Country Music Association’s board of directors, and was credited with helping bring some of the biggest stars to Australia.
“The CMA board and staff, as well as the country music community, is devastated at the news of Rob’s passing,” CMA chief executive officer Sarah Trahern said in a statement. “He was a key driver of our international expansion for the past years and waved the country flag proudly in Australia. On a personal note, my husband Wayne and I have lost a vibrant friend. Rob lived life to its fullest.” Will you pray for Rob?
