Two weeks ago, a young girl was nearly killed in a house fire. Instead, the 7-year-old was severely burned. Young Chelsea can finally breathe on her own and while the girl’s mother is breathing her own sigh of relief, the start of the school year presents many more difficulties.
Chelsea Bardales is covered in bandages. Her mom, Irosis Bardales, hasn’t missed a single day of taking care of her. She makes the hour drive from Brandenton to Tampa General. While Chelsea is deaf, everyone else can hear the joy in her mother’s voice when she talks to her. Irosis is thankful her daughter can now wiggle her fingers.
It’s been tough for the family watching the numerous skin grafts and surgeries.
“I thought I was going to faint. I felt horrible seeing her like that,” said Irosis.
The saddest part? She couldn’t hear the fire alarms because of her deafness.
“No family should ever go through this,” she said, “We all need to be cautious.”
Please pray for this young girl to make a full recovery.
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
