Little Girl Diagnosed With Rare Disease, But Thanks To God She Is Still Strong

I cannot do it justice. Ruby’s story is amazing. Her gofundme page says,

Ruby is a 12-year old with an extremely rare genetic condition called Stromme Syndrome, which causes microcephaly, vision impairment, bowel obstruction, short stature and developmental delays. There are only 12 known cases of this condition in the world!

Over the last 12 years many doctors have made predictions about Ruby’s future but she has proven all of them wrong! She can see much more than I ever imagined and she walks, talks, and blesses so many lives. She’s a smart, sweet and funny little girl with a heart of gold. She loves baseball, her iPad, Frozen and watching her favorite shows in many different languages.

Ruby has an amazing black lab named Stella who is 12 years old. Before Stella passes on, I would like to bring a facilitated guide dog into our home who will be specially trained to help Ruby walk more independently, prevent her from falling down stairs and hurting herself on other obstacles, and help create more social opportunities for her. I have found a service dog organization that trains dogs for Ruby’s unique needs and the only thing standing in our way is money!

We are currently in the process of applying to a couple of different service dog organizations. The price to adopt could range from $5,000-$20,000. ANY amount you can give would be so appreciated!

An update from them stated, “WOW! We did it! I can’t believe that we raised more than our goal in just three short days. The outpouring of love and support has been so amazing, humbling and awe-inspiring, not only to Ruby and me, but to so many of my family members and friends. I have shed many happy tears throughout this whole process. I am turning off donations until we are more clear on which service dog agency we are working with. I have reached out to several and we are just waiting to hear back on eligibility and wait list time. I promise to keep you posted! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your generosity! Whatever the size of your donation, you touched our hearts deeply. Xoxo” Will you pray for Ruby?
