One Of Country’s Favorite Sons Lost His Best Friend. We Must Pray For Him Now

Blake Shelton is one of those artists that is hard to dislike. Despite his divorce from Miranda Lambert, the Country crooner has been all positive in the media. His love for Gwen has captivated millions, and The Voice still remains one of the best shows on TV. Blake remains positive throughout his entire life.

He said that it was his brother that taught him that. His brother was his best friend, but unfortunately Blake lost him at the age of 14. Blake’s older brother Richie Shelton lost his life in a car crash at 24 years old. Honoring his brother, the country superstar took to Twitter to write an emotional tribute to Richie on the anniversary of his death.

“Lost my brother 27 years ago today. I was only 14 at the time but it changed my life forever… Made me realize that life is precious and there’s no time like RIGHT NOW to go for it… We still miss you Richie!!” wrote Shelton.
Blake dedicated the song, “Over You” to his late brother. It is a beautiful ballad that I will share with you now. Do you love Blake?

Weather man said it’s gonna snow
By now I should be used to the cold
Mid-February shouldn’t be so scary
It was only December
I still remember the presents, the tree, you and me

But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you

Living alone here in this place
I think of you, and I’m not afraid
Your favorite records make me feel better
Cause you sing along
With every song
I know you didn’t mean to give them to me

But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you
